Our one-day networking skills course addresses common misconceptions about what business networking is, and what it is not. It covers the key aspects required for creating a successful and efficient networking strategy both on and offline, as well as the four ingredients needed to consistently generate referrals and opportunities.

The course will highlight key networking blunders and how to avoid them, how to make a positive first impression, how to “work a room”, how to deploy icebreaker questions, and exiting a conversation with skill and ease.

The following areas are covered in the course:

  • What is networking: Eliminating common misconceptions – with a true understanding of the nature and role of networking we can learn the winning behaviours to exponentially grow our online and offline connections.
  • Creating a winning networking strategy: This section addresses how categorise your contacts as well as putting in place a networking map to ensure that your time and efforts are focused in the best direction in order to maximise results.
  • The four ingredients of networking success: How to create credibility, enhance your personal brand, increase your visibility, and build social capital.
  • How to maximise your effectiveness at a networking event:
    • Making a positive first impression: How to present yourself with maximum effect!
    • Your opening sound bite: How to introduce yourself in a winning memorable manner
    • Icebreaker questions and how to use them: What to say in order to captivate your audience
    • Getting the right attitude: Techniques for eliminating unhelpful attitudes that often lead to self-limiting behaviours
    • How to circulate: Establishing the right mind-set and behaviours to effectively work a room
    • How to exit a conversation: What to say to in order to preserve the other party’s feelings and to assert yourself as a truly helpful professional networker
  • How to ask for referrals: A technique to assist you to gain your contact’s assistance
  • Behaving like a great networker: round up of the key behaviours, including selflessness and maintaining an inquisitive, curious outlook.
  • How to network effectively on LinkedIn: This section will address how to create a magnetic LinkedIn profile, sending “cold” connection requests that get accepted, how to initiate conversations with prospects in the most effective manner, and putting in place a tried-and-tested process for generating opportunities and referrals.

We will be delivering our networking skills training as a one day public course in London on the upcoming dates:

Course Price

The course is priced at £350 plus VAT per delegate, although if two delegates from the same company wish to attend then the second person is half price. If you would like to book places for more than two delegates from the same company, then please speak to us as there may be further discounts available.

Public Course and On-Site Training: One Day

How is the day structured?

Public Courses start at 9:30am and finish at 5pm.

In-House/On-Site Training: Timings depend on our clients’ preferences but courses usually start at 9 or 9:30am and finish at 5pm.

Can the contents of the course be fitted to my needs?

The content of all our courses, when being delivered on-site, can be tailored to our clients’ specific needs.

What is your cancellation policy?

In the unfortunate event that you can no longer attend a course, we will transfer your bookings and any payments to an agreed alternative date free of charge. If you would like to cancel entirely, a full refund will be provided if you let us know more than 7 days prior to the booked date.

How does payment work?

For both public and on-site courses payment is required prior to Workshop attendance. An invoice will be issued and payment can be made via electronic bank transfer or through PayPal.

What is included in the price?

For public courses a training manual is provided. On completion of the course all attendees are eligible for the Coaching Hotline where attendees can contact their trainer via email, telephone or Skype should they have any further questions or should they require any further guidance.

For on-site courses the fee includes all tailoring of the training materials and content, and a training manual. What discounts do you offer?

We offer discounts for multiple delegates from the same company at our public courses. When more than one delegate from the same company attends one of our public courses the second delegate is half price. For further discounts please get in touch.

Do you offer online training?

We currently offer virtual training delivered over Skype. It offers an affordable, convenient solution for those who due to logistical considerations are unable to attend our courses in person. It is highly interactive and offers a stimulating option.

In which countries do you provide training?

We deliver our courses all over the world, hence the word “Global” in our name.  

What is the style of training?

We adopt a highly interactive style – the best way for imparting learning points. Delegates often comment positively on the participatory style of learning. Role-plays, assessments, and exercises are commonly used to embed learning. Our highly experienced trainers will often share war stories to illustrate key points.
